Four Online Marketing Lessons I Learned from Working with Hundreds of Home Improvement Contractors

Online Marketing for Contractors

Website Strategies

As a digital marketing expert at BigNet Leads, I've worked with hundreds of specialty contractors (Fencing, Deck, Remodeling, Tree Services etc.), helping them to grow their business with our website marketing platform. I've noticed several trends in how Google rewards some websites over others and in how customers use websites and research contractors.

1) Reviews

Naturally and personally ask happy customers to review you. The more the merrier! Ask your Account Manager about responding to reviews if that's something you don't currently do or if you're looking for advice on how to get started.

2) City Pages

We have found that geographically focused pages, convert at a rate that is as much as double the rate of regular content pages. The BigNet Leads program makes it easy to create as many as possible. Our contractors with a higher number of city pages on their site tend to see more activity on their sites.

3) NAP Information

This stands for Name, Address, Phone number and is really important to search engines. It must be consistent and correct in multiple places on the internet. Make sure to claim your unclaimed listings on Google, Yelp, and other prominent sites and then update them for accuracy. Ask your Account Manager if yours is all set because, depending on your area and combined with all the other marketing you're doing, this can help improve your web presence.

4) An Account Manager You Can Talk To

Contractors in our network who talk to their Account Manager most often are more successful at hitting their business goals. Our Account Managers literally talk to businesses across multiple regions all day, picking up trends and information that can help your business. If you're already a member, take advantage of this and chat them up today!

No one item above is the silver bullet to grow leads by itself. We built the BigNet Leads platform to make it easy to help home improvement business stand out with these four strategic elements, which in combination can make a serious impact on your business!
